Nutramigen: not filling enough?

My 2 month old daughter has been put on Nutramigen 1 after a 2 week stay in hospital with a virus that has left her with a cow's milk protein intolerance.

It has worked a treat and she feeds well, even though it tastes and smells vile! However, the feed never seems to satisfy her; she often needs a small top-up after a short period of time and will often be hungry after a couple of hours. She can't take any more liquid volumewise, but clearly wants more to satisfy her hunger.

Anyone else experienced this? My motherinlaw suggested Farex rusks. She's only nine weeks!! My reply was a polite 'NO WAY!' .

My DS had nutramigen from 7 months up to 2 years. I didn't notice he was hungry with it but he was also already on solids. As far as I know it should not be any less filling than normal formula.

The calorie content is the same, so only difference I can think of is that it is a simpler formula due to the fact that it's broken down. That's just a guess.

My DD has been incredibly ill and just getting better, so maybe it's just a case of her compensating for the extreme weight loss over the last four weeks?
