returning to work and he won't take a bottle...help!

I have a 2.5 month old little boy. I am returning to work in 2 months. I am EBF and it has gone well pretty much since the beginning - we both enjoy it. I started expressing and trying him on the bottle at about 5 weeks old - with varying degrees of success....

We have tried tommy tippee (totally rejected it) and NUK latex teats. The NUK have been more sucessful, but it really is hit and miss.

We have tried it with me being out of the way and only my partner or mom trying to feed him. I actually dont think this makes much difference as he will sometimes take it when i am in the same room but has totally rejected it when i have been out the house for a few hours!

I don't think it is the style of teat that is the problem now, it is whether he is in a good enough mood to accept it in his mouth full stop.

We have a couple of weddings and a hen do to go to in June and I am really worried I wont be able to leave him.....not just have some free time for myself, but we have to get it working as I need to go back to work!!

I am starting to get frustrated - but I know it isn't his fault, but find myself getting stressed and annoyed and I am sure he will pick up on this which I really do not want...I love him so much!!

Any hints please!??

Thanks

Stick with it. I ended up after several frustrating days going cold turkey on DS before I returned to work (when he was 7mo and with expressed to start), and eventually he just understood that there just wasn't an option if he held out. I think trying out different teats / bottles also helped.

And of course you love him, but see if you can keep getting someone else to do the feeding. Maybe make yourself scarce this weekend for longer days? Might keep you less stressed out too.
