Ten month old on nursing strike?

Hi,

My DS2 is ten months next week. I've been back at work two months now and I bf him morning and evening. He has 2 bottles of formula in the day and 3 solid meals.

He's gradually been getting less enthusiastic about his bf, particularly the morning one as DS1 is running around and is much more exciting than me. Today he had hardly anything in the morning and flatly refused in the evening.

It's not the worst thing in the world if he gives up but I did hope I had a few more months yet. DS1 did something similar but only at 14 months when I was more ready to give up.

He has the second of his top two teeth coming through but he didn't stop feeding for any of his other teeth. I've also just got my first post DS2 period, which I thought might be something to do with it.

Any thoughts? I read the Kelly mom stuff but didn't seem to work for me as I really only have a short window when I can feed him, particularly in the morning, and it has to be a take it or leave it scenario. Also, he bites me if I keep offering when he has refused. I'm a bit sad if it's the end of the road, though.

Ta very much.

My 9 month old dd has 4 bfeeds max. Why not drop a bottle of forumla in the day? Fwiw I find that if she has 4 feeds (last one any later than 5 she will hardly have anything at bed time).

Also you could try bfeeding b4 the bath routine as this may tire your ds too much.
