if my boobs no longer feel full, is that my supply going?

I have recently (in the past week) more or less stopped bf DD2 during the day, and after a morning feed around 7 ish, she has a short bf after some formula at 6ish, and then a formula dream feed at 9.30. any night wakings, I bf.

shouldn't my boobs feel fuller though, during the day? has my supply adjusted or is it diminishing? i'd be disappointed to stop now, i've only moved to bottles in the day as i am going back to work next week

Sorry, can't be much help as a new m2b but just wondered why not express milk for her to have bottle feeds when you're at work?

your supply adjusts to the demand. And as babies get older your boobs won't feel so full anyway - especially with second or later babies. Kellymom has lots of evidence based stuff about how 'fullness' of breasts is not a good guide to how much milk they hold.

also expressing for the work feeds is a great idea, I didn't even think of it for ds1 but it worked very well for ds2. The breastfeeding charities should all have leaflets about how to manage it.

You don't say how long you've been bf - as I've gone on, the fullness has disappeared - apparently your boobs sort themselves out and stop feeling full when your supply settles down. So don't worry. It probably doesn't mean your supply is dimishing, just adjusting.

sorry, thanks for your replies, I got distracted by both DDs! I've been feeding for 7 1/2 mo, no chance of me expressing at work, i'm a teacher so no time or place to do it. also, i stopped expressing at about 6mo so i'm not sure i'd get any out, certainly not the 10+ oz she would need.

I really hope it is just that my supply has adjusted; i was hoping that the morning and night feeds, plus any during the night would be enough to keep it ticking over for a couple of months, particularly while i settle back into work and DD settles into nursery. I just though that not feeding all day, my boobs would be a little bit harder than normal.
