16 week old refusing milk HELP

Hi all. Just wondered if anyone could help. My 16 week old has recently started to refuse feeds and i am at the end of my tether. He has been formula fed since birth and was taking 6 - 7 oz per feed every 4 hours. However in the last week he has at least 1 or 2 feeds a day where we fight to feed him. He starts off fine then starts screaming the place down and refuses to take the bottle. This morning he fed at 5am and still would not take the bottle at 10.30 am.I don't think that he is ready for solids yet as he just doesn't seem that interested (although he does watch me eat intently)I have changed the teats from slow flow to medium flow about 2 weeks ago so it can't be that. I just don't know whats changed and can't fathom out what to do.
Any advice gratefully received.

Could he be colic? as it starts and feeding times and can last until the next feed or even the next?

How is his bowel movements and is his stools "normal" ?

Is his soft spot OK? (dehydration)

Hi LMH - thanks for the reply. I dont think that its colic as it doesn't happen at every feed just odd ones! Its almost like something upsets him and then thats it.
His bowel movements are the same as usual. He's not been normal as he is on a hypoallergenic formula for a milk allergy.
His soft spot seems ok. He seems a bit grizzly today as he had jabs yesterday but this refusing of certain feeds has been going on for a few days now.
He has also been very dribbly and drooling lots - especially today. Am now wondering if he is teething but he doesn't want to put things in his mouth!
Its got to the stage where I am petrified at the start of every single feed just in case he starts refusing it again.
Just wondered if anyone had any ideas really...

Hi, are you still having difficulties? I am BF but have had similar problems with DS refusing feeds etc. Teething does seem to be a factor in my case, and giving him teething granules (Nelsons chamomile) sometimes helps to settle him for a feed.
