9mo DS not taking enough formula each day

Hi
DS was bf til 8 months when I had supply problems (which turned out to be bcos I am preg...)
He is small and has gained weight slowly, he never seemed to be a milk monster.
So when the suppy was falling I switched to formula and he was OK with it for a few weeks but now is not finishing any of the bottles.
He is supposed to have around 20 ounces/600ml a day but is averaging more like 15 ounces.
Does anyone have any tips on how to get him to take more?
He eats OK, again been a little struggle as he won't be spoonfed so we did BLW and he does eat. I have tried offering a little less food at each meal to make sure he is not too full as I understand that the milk is what he needs more at this stage.
I offer four 6 ounce bottles a day.
I do put formula on his cereal (have counted this is his intake) and offer a wide range of foods.
I would be really grateful for any advice, I have worried about his weight and his milk intake since he was born!
thank you

Did you get any advice from the clinic? Having had a slow-gaining, small baby, I suspect that yours is getting all that his appetite is telling him he needs at the moment, but I'm not an expert.

hi
to be honest the HVs aren't brill. They just say add some to his food but this only increases it by miniscule amounts. I have thought that if I was still bf, he'd be eating to appetite anyway and I wouldn't be able to measure, you're quite right.
Thanks, is just good not to be alone!

yoghurt, cheese and non-dairy sources of calcium count towards the intake too so it doesnt all have to be in drink form.

thanks, he does have those. Just worried he won;t get all the vits that are in the formula, although I know they are in food too...
