Baby just not that keen on milk - When to worry?

DS2 is the cuddliest, happiest and chilled out baby ever. Before I am called smug, DS1 was a right pain in the ass grumpy baby for a long time and we really paid our dues with that one! Except for one thing, he just isn't that keen on drinking his milk. Since week 2, he has been FF. BF did not work for me based on medical grounds - hormone problems due to pituitary tumour. He was throwing up a lot for the first 12 weeks of his life so it was always a struggle to get milk in him. He also sleeps lots so that's another issue. At the moment he is 14 weeks old and on 4 bottles a day (he has a 6oz bottle but barely finishes it, usually leaving an ounce or two). I do a DF at 11pm and he will take 3-4ozs at that feed and that's it.

I've tried everything to get more milk in him. I've tried feeding more often (mouth clamped shut usually) but if I do get more milk in him, it usually ends up in a spectacular throw-up. I've tried changing formula (did stop the massive throw ups as he seems to be bringing up wind better) but volume still stays the same. I've tried letting him sleep and wake up at night when he is hungry (usually he will go down at 7pm and won't wake till 4/4.30am for a feed but only takes 3ozs and impacts on his morning bottle... I have no idea how much he weighs. He was 10lbs 6ozs last time he got weighed weeks and weeks ago and I am pretty sure he is lighter than my friend's little girl who is a week younger and weighed 11lbs 7ozs yesterday. Other than that, he is a happy and chilled out baby. Developmentally he seems to be on target - holds his head up well, he babbles a lot, he kicks, he is alert blah blah blah.

Should I just chill? Even if I take him to the baby clinic and they tell me he is way underweight, what can they do? It's not as if I am not trying my best to feed him! Thanks.

Yes, I would chill. He sounds as though he is taking what he needs, if he's alert and happy.

Thanks Bertie. My best friend in the UK used to be a pediatric nurse and she isn't worried so I don't know why I am! He's just so slim. I keep comparing him to DS1 who was really quite fat by this point. Anyone who says bottle-fed babies are fatter than BF ones should meet DS2.
