Re-establishing milk supply

One breast has almost dried up because of feeding more often on one side. She now doesn't want to feed from the dried up side - understandibly. I'm using a manual pump to try and re-establish it. Am I likely to get it going again does anyone know or is it too late? At the moment, I can only express about a teaspoon of milk.

It shouldn't be too late - how long has it been like this? How often are you pumping? What times are you doing it at in relation to feeding your DD? Does she have any bottles at all? Does she feed from the dried up side at all, maybe try when she is already full? I don't think that milk output is a good indicator of supply, but the fact you are getting some out is a good sign.

Sorry for all the questions, am just thinking a bit more information might be helpful I am not an expert but hopefully one will be around in the morning and for how I suggest you read through the pages on relactation and upping supply on kellymom. Good luck!

Sickness bug just knocked me out for a few days so not been on NM!
Thanks for your message BertieBotts.

Been like this for about 3mo now. I haven't pumped every day - it makes me sore. I try to put her on after her feed but she's not interested. Thanks for the link - will have a look

Instead of using a pump why don't you try just hand expressing? It is much gentler on you and you will find it easier to do that more frequesntly. You could do it every time you feed on the other side. Don't worry about trying to collect milk, just do it for stimulation initially. A breast thatt is stimulated frequesntly, will produce milk.
