Aptamil-branded weight charts

A friend went with her sister to have her new baby weighed. The person weighing the baby was using a weight chart with "Aptamil" printed on it.

I know a bit about WHO codes - where does this kind of thing sit? Also, can anyone tell me the best route for complaint - eg letter to practice manager or head of community midwifery?

I haven't yet got answers to some other questions, eg why this chart not the red book etc etc)

(Sadly, am too used to this sort of thing to assume it must be illegal.)

Bloody hell. If it makes you feel better, my DS was breadfed till about 13/14 mo, and now is one of the tallest in our immediate birth group. Skinny, but with the height, he weighs a bomb. Hah.

I would write to everyone, that's atrocious!

It's not illegal but it is very, very bad practice.

This needs a letter to the chief executive of the PCT, whoever is the breastfeeding 'lead' at the PCT, the health visitors' manager, chair of the MSLC....all of them.

(no help but on similar lines, I was thrilled the other day to see my MW had her ID tag hanging off a breastfeeding.nhs.uk lanyard)
