Does anyone have any silverettes they want to sell?

Hi, I am due DC3 in a couple of weeks and have had very unsuccessful bf attempts with DC1 & 2. Both times I've had cracked bleeding nipples from the beginning and got lots of help with positioning at the hospital (CS's both times) and afterwards at the bf clinic. I'm desperate to bf this time as it really caused me huge distress before (failing and the pain!).

I'd like to get some silverettes in advance, based on recommendations on mn but they cost £32.49 new which I really can't afford at the moment. None seem to come up for sale on ebay so I wondered if anyone had a pair they no longer need and would be willing to sell?

Thanks

I'll happily lend you mine Mr Wolf. I have no real further use for them myself, but I'd just like them back eventually to maybe give to DD in years to come! I've just got them out of my drawer now and their still in the box with the leaflet too. I could pop them in the post to you tomorrow if you like.

Thats really very kind of you teacletart, thank you so much! I promise to look after them very carefully and will of course pay postage. How do I go about exchanging details?

I have a pair that were sent to me by another mumsnetter and I am very willing to send them on to you. I don;t need them back.....

Oh no don't worry about postage. Just glad to help. Seriously, getting through the first couple of months with each of mine was hellish but really worth it. I only used the silver cups for my dd but I think they did help. At the very least, they certainly helped to keep my bra off my sore nips, even if they also gave me a perkier look than usual! Are you able to get to me through the contact poster link?

oooh woops crossed posts! maybe you'd prefer the others if they don't need returning. I won't be offended

Good luck! My personal top tips are - Go to bed with your newborn baby and try not to get out of bed again for at least a week. Learn to breastfeed lying down as soon as you can. Look out for any signs of breast thrush and knock it on the head instantly with proper drugs (I've had it 3 times, always after anti biotics - horrid!). Don't forget you can use painkillers when you're feeding too. Don't keep any bottles or formula in the house because if you're sore and low and you're baby's crying in the night it will be very tempting to use - in reality waiting a few hours for the shops to open or for your head to clear is much preferable to using formula if you really are determined not to. When you're not using silverettes, Lansinoh is fab. Take each day at a time and remember it does get better even though, in my experience it sometimes gets a little worse before it does. (BTW, I still feed dd at night and she's 2.5 now!)
