Cosleeping, breastfeeders - leaving toddler overnight?

I have been asked to go on a weekend away (abroad) this June when DD will be 18 months old. I would love to go but I am not sure I can leave dd for so long.

She still feeds at night now (1 yr old) and sleeps next to me.

If I left her she would have to sleep in bed with dh - is this a problem at 18 months?

It would also mean no milk for upto 3 days which part of me thinks would be a like really harsh weaning.

I know all babies are different but I just wondered has anyone done anything like this and how was your dc?

I think I am leaning towards not going but it'd be useful to talk it through here if thats ok? DH says I should just go ("she'll be fine!") so no discussion there.

Its a hen party and I'd be the oldest by about 5 years, the only married woman and the only one with a dc so that may also be swaying me to staying at home.

I agree with you, it would be very harsh on your DD and your breasts too. I also have a 13m DS who co sleeps and feeds and I would love a weekend away so I feel your pain! If you want to do it I would recommend a more gradual weaning over the next 6m. I think I will just wait until my DS2 is older.

You're right, I would have to start weaning her gradually from now and that seems a bit selfish for the sake of a weekend when the night feeding/co-sleeping aren't a problem ordinarily.

I knew it really I suppose. I suppose I was getting carried away at the thought of a weekend of freedom but I see mention of a stripper in the itinerary so its getting less and less appealing by the minute.

Thank you for replying, it's got it straight in my mind. I can do all this stuff when she's older.
