Hi, i ve just seen that Asda have an offer on their Tommee Teppee closer to nature microwave steam sterilizer and the manual breast pump. Both of them are at what seems like the bargain price of £10.00. Has any one used one of these products or know of anyone that has. Are they any good? If not can anyone recommend any others that aren't to expensive. Cheers

Suposed to be great, I've got both but haven't used either yet as DD not due for another 8 weeks!! Have spoken to a few people and only had positive feedback! xx

I had the tommee tippee pump (got it as a freebie) and it wasn't great really. Only expressed very occasionally but found it quite uncomfortable to use. A friend lent me her avent manual pump to try which i found better and I seemed to get a bit more milk with it. I suppose it depends how much you think you'll use it - I only used mine a handful of times so it was handy to have something to use and didn't matter too much that I didn't find it to be a great pump. I think if you're planning on pumping regularly I would be inclined to spend a bit more money on a better pump.

I have the steriliser and it's fine. Just make sure it'll fit in your microwave! The one we have also fits dr browns bottles which we switched to as TT's were too fast for our DD which might be worth considering.

Hi, I've been using the pump for three weeks now and love it - tried a double electric thingy and felt too much like dairy farm to me. I had to start expressing due to gnawed off nipples - I only feed expressed milk until they heal. Pump six times in 24 hrs, both sides and manage 90 - 150ml each time (it got progressively better). DD's six weeks tomorrow btw.

Thanks for the help Everyone i pretty much asked has said to get an electric one as they are much easier to use, trouble is some of them cost an absolute bloody fortune. I don't want to spend loads incase they don t work for me. I guess its just gonna be trial and error though. Thanks for the advice on the sterilizer fitting in the microwave mcflumpy, i would never had thought to look until i had brought it home. Ah so much to think about!

I've got one and it's great. bit of RSI in the pumping hand after a while , but if you're not planning to use it all the time, it's fine.
