Cow & Gate Comfort and teats

I know I am posting a lot recently, but am a new mum and haven't got many people to talk to and this site is great!

Now, I am bottle feeding DD the above formula as she had colic. We tried to change to the normal one but she didn't want it! The probem is that after feeding very good 180ml she is now taking less and less falling sleep on the bottle and loosing interest. This hapened before when we where giving her SMA and at 8 weeks the HV said that because she is a big girl we should change her to number 2 teats (Dr. Brown). She did drink better but also a lot was going down her chin. With Cow & Gate Comfort she didn't let go at all and finished the bottles. Now she is 12 weeks and starting to be as before, falling sleep at the bottle and feeding less. Bought the number 3 teats but the are for 6 month + and I am worried she is too little for them? But the formula is thicker and with "bits" on it (that are normal apparently) so it could be that she is sucking too hard and not getting enough and hence falling sleep. Once she stops feeding she is awake (so not tired to start with) and if I try again she has lost interest.

So when we where feeding every 4 hours now she is hungry earlier and earlier.

Anyone had the same problem or any advice with C&G Comfort?

Thank you so much.

the website advises a faster flowing teat as it is thicker - I'd try the 6 month+ ones or try a variable flow one:

Cow & Gate Comfort is thicker than some other milks - for a more controlled intake. The thickness gives a more even flow to help your baby take in less air when feeding. Try either a variable flow teat or one with a single hole (either a medium or fast flow) and see what suits your baby best.

Dr Browns also do a Y cut teat for thicker liquids but you may have to get them online

Thanks fo rthe replies.

I did look for the Y cut ones but I understood they are for bigger babies, when you want to give them cereal before bed for example.

I am trying today, the HV said she might swallow a lot more air. /

But I am sure the poor thing was hungry the whole day yesterday and I thought she was just grumpy.

you wouldnt give cereal from a bottle though unless on medical advice to solve a problem like reflux, for example.

That is what some people have said on the comments in Dr. Browns website.

Anyhow I used the no. 3 teats and the first time she chocked and swallowed a lot of air, but the second time she managed much better! as she finished the first and kept sucking, the second time I made 210ml and she finished that! The poor thing
