On behalf of someone on another (US) site (they are posting from phone so not sure if they can get on here, register etc) - She has had back pain for 7 days and has been prescribed Methylprednisolone and Cyclobenzaprine - the Cyclobenzaprine is the one she is worried about WRT breastfeeding as there is not a lot of information on it. Her DD is 15 months old if that makes a difference - does anyone know of the effects of it or how long it will stay in her milk for?

A google says it is not advised for breastfeeding mothers as can leak into the milk

LactMed suggests that...

"Summary of Use during Lactation:
If cyclobenzaprine is required by the mother, it is not necessarily a reason to discontinue breastfeeding. However, because there is no published experience with cyclobenzaprine during breastfeeding, other agents may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant, or when other drugs that can cause sedation are used simultaneously."

Suggests 'carisoprodol' as an alternative.
