15 week old - is this a growth spurt? Survival tips please!

DS 15 weeks old was waking twice a night to feed and settling again afterwards in cot, up until 3 weeks ago. I was right alongside him in a bed.

Then he got a cold and had his jabs, both of which upset his nighttime sleep.

Now, he is waking 1-2 hourly for most of the night, he wakes crying, feeds a bit and then is a nightmare to settle. I've brought him into bed with me, but he's still hard to settle.

I gave up dairy which has helped with wind/difficulty pooing (both have been a problem since day 1). I can understand the frequent feeding in terms of growth spurt, and I can grit my teeth till it's over, but I don't understand the crying/difficulty settling. I thought I'd figured out the hungry noises and would latch baby on before fully awake - thereby avoiding the difficulty resettling after feed.

Would you be inclined to investigate other issues ie ear infection?

I don't mind cosleeping by the way, it's just the very frequent night waking which is very tiring esp as I have a toddler to care for as well so no chance to nap during the day.

FYI DS is on 91st centile or thereabouts. After his cold I do wonder if he's trying to regain some weight he may have lost as he didn't feed too well when he had a stuffy nose/cough.

Thanks

If it was an ear infection he would probably be upset in the day too, is this the case? I can remember a few instances of feeding through the night at newborn(obviously) then i think 3 months and 4. no idea whether it was growth spurt or comfort feeding? I found that cosleeping increased the number of wakings, still does that now but sometimes its just easier on a bad night.

sorry I haven't helped have i ! Hope someone else can, but hugs for frequent feeds still early days so hopefully things will improve soon
