I breastfed my dd1 but that was 4 years ago, dd2 was bottle. I was very reluctant to this time as I have had tough year with depression and didn't want to struggle with breastfeeding and wanted body back etc. However milk has come in and after thinking all night I do want to give it a try after all. So currently sat in bed feeding.
He's a pro... Started just gone 8am and I have fed from each to when he comes away himself and now back to first side.
Please can someone remind me how often and what is normal please?

I found Lansinoh nipple cream a life saver with DD in the early days - don't use it much now (DD 4 months) but really helped with sore nipples. Air your nipples if possible too - I stuck breast pads on the inside of a fitted t-shirt or vest-top and didn't wear a bra.

Are your breasts quite engorged at night? I found a hot bath (splash water up onto your breast) and then express a little while you're in there. I did this just before feeding DD a few times as she struggled to latch on.

Congratulations and do keep trying if you can. DD had her off days but I took it that if she looked sleepy and came off the breast herself she was happy.
