Bit worried - my 8 week old has got green poo - green not yellowy green but really green poo. Is this a problem? Think my HV said could be sign of overfeeding? Can you over feed when breastfeeding? any thoughts much appreciated

looooooooads of posts on this (have a search of the archive) and loads of reasons. It can be due to a scant feed too - ie all foremilk.

If it's just the odd one the consensus is not to worry. If it persists for days then perhaps get it checked out.

Both mine had the odd green nappy - sometimes really dark, like the colour seaweed, or virulent lime.

It was often connected with teething or a slight tummy upset but more often inexplicable. Neither seemed to come to any harm.

My exclusively BF DD had the occasional seaweed/spinach nappy - I went the GP and she said not to worry. Th GP said it could be due to too little hindmilk so to try to make sure she took as much milk from one side before swapping as possible but she did stress really not to worry. So I tried not to! She stopped having them when she was about 3/4 months old.

And, as far as I know, having BF my DD to 2.2 years old (and still going) - nope it's not possible to overfeed a BF child. That's the joy of it - it's a completely self-regulating system and you can't force your child to take more milk than they need.
