Ds is almost 10 months. Slept thru lovely till weaning and has never got back to it. He feeds at bedtime - 7.30pm then once sometime between 11pm and 1am, once sometime between 3am and 5am, then on waking at 6.45 am. He'll go then until lunchtime or a bit later in the afternoon depending on his mood, sometimes having a bit before tea.

By the bedtime feed there does not seem to be much milk and he has started biting me, perhaps just cos he's got teeth and its novel, but i think in frustration. He's often really restless and fidgety for the last feed. I want to carry on BF but its all getting me down a bit at the mo. I'd really like to stop the night feeds I'm sure he doesn't need them, he is a good eater, but I dont know how. any advice much appreciated!

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon but thought I'd say hi. My DS2, (now 13mths), is a light sleeper. I think he wanted ongoing night feeds to be close to me. Very sweet, but I was so tired. We gradually switched to water only at night and a cuddle. I started giving him a little less attention each time, and spending less time settling him. If DH was home, (he works shifts), he would help. It was going really well until DS2 recently got ill so I'm up most of the night again at the mo.

You say your DS is a good eater but that he stopped sleeping through during weaning. Perhaps he was hungrier to start with and got into a pattern of waking more at this time. If you're sure he is getting anough nutrition now I'd start thinking about switching to water only at night.

Hope that makes sense. I'm very tired and prob just waffling!
