Already have another thread on this but it has become a bit of a monologue.
DS (nearly 18mo) has been on nursing strike for 35 sodding days.
Not sure if I want encouragement to continue or "permission" to stop.
Only expressing once (or less) per day now - and fucking periods have even come back.
Plan was to try for another week (have seen a blog about a 40 day strike) then stop.
TBH am being fairly half-hearted now about offering as DS is happy with a bottle.
Think it is very unlikely he will come back now but would hate to stop offering just before he would have iyswim!
Anyone got anything to suggest?

Yep. Stop beating yourself up. Life's too short. You have done your best, it didn't work out. Move on. Permission to stop granted.

Look I've breastfed two kids - one for 3 years and one so far for 16 months and I know how bloody hard it is and how exasperating nursing strikes are. You've gone above and beyond the call of duty. Give up now. You've done your bit. Be very proud of yourself, buy yourself some nice bras and some ibuprofen (the first few periods are fucking hideous aren't they? ).

Well done you.

Cheer up. You have done more than the vast majority of other mummies in this country.

Thanks.

My head knows all that but my heart is still not ready to let go!

(just proves that after a certain age it really is all about the mother eh? )

No, it's not about the mother, often it's about surviving the mother experience as best you can.
