DS (1) has been feeding loads, will I have problems when he feeds normally again?

DS was one yesterday - he hasn't had a very happy birthday though as he's had a horrible cold He's been nursing a lot - more like a newborn than a one year old. I am now worried that as he gets better and more active again I will get really engorged and possibly end up with blocked ducts. Is this likely? And is there anything I can do to help prevent it?

Do you have a history of oversupply, engorgement and blocked ducts?

Hopefully, as he gets better, he will reduce his feeds gradually. Otherwise, you can try the usual prevention methods - feeding with his chin at any lump (yes, this involves some silly positions, but it's worth it, ime!), pumping a bit to ease things off, hot massage, etc.

Don't have a history of oversupply but I have had a blocked duct which was not nice.

He seems to be feeding less today but not back to normal yet. So hopefully you are right
