could you tell me how much your bf prem baby was gaining a week in the first few months?

my ds born 34+6 gains 5-6 oz a week. just came back from weighing, saw a different hv who made me feel like this was unacceptable + that i am starving him.

i want to believe i am doing the right thing by bf him but if this is too low a gain, i will switch to ff.

i just want what's best for him

thank you all for your support, yesterday was a very wobbly day.

i don't understand how he can be falling down the centiles and a cause for concern when he is putting on the same amount of weight a fortnight (have him weighed fortnightly)

i am doing everything i can, feeding him every 2 hours in the day, 3-4 at night, breast compressions, taking fenugreek. i still have some ebm in the freezer from when i was cup feeding him = tried to give it to him after a feed yesterday and he wouldn't take any.

i don't think i can make him bigger/eat more.

hairband, you are so right about how it feels to bf him, that + my bad experiences with dd's weight are the reason why i am so sensitive to comments right now.

he is having many heavy wet nappies ( they make a THUD sound if you drop them) a day, dirty nappies regularly, my breasts feel softer after a feed + he is content, he is meeting his milestones (smiling + can almost support his head now at 11 weeks).

by all these signs he is ok, i guess i need to just not obsess over his weight.

Is he vaguely following a line below the chart?

It took ages for my DD to reach the 0.4th centile, she's been rising through them ever since.

You are doing great, babies grow in spurts.
