Will Epsom Salts dry up my milk?

I have stopped breast feeding DD3 (nearly 7 months) yesterday, I am in absolute agony, I am engorged like I have never known and can't even concentrate as the pain is so bad! I have bought Epsom Salts out of desperation but does anyone know if they work?

If not, any other ideas!? I really am desperate!

Why are you stopping so abruptly??

Oh, really?
Hmm, that is tough.
Could you feed every other day?
Or express just enough off to feel comfortable?

Unfortunately DD3 has just lost interest in breast feeding since I introduced the bottle, I had planned to carry on doing morning and evening feeds for at least the new 3 months but she wasn't having any of it. I have just hand expressed a bit off to relieve the discomfort, that seems to have helped slightly. I was the same with DD1 and DD2 but had forgot how painful it was. Thanks anyway!

Cabbage leaves?
Hot showers?
Cold showers?

Even express once a day and give in a bottle?

Yes, one-two teaspoons of epsom salts from a chemist, over the counter helped to dry up my milk when i decided to finish feeding. It is a diuretic. My step-Grandmother who was a retired chemist recommended it and it works! Not too much though or you will have a laxative effect. Good luck.

The baby will now be about 13 @HFHarvey so no need to be overly concerned ...
