Hi, I was wondering if there was anyone out there who has/is BF with really large boobs? I am 20W pregnant with my 1st and would really like to BF however i'm usually a 32K and was wondering if this would be a big problem when BF. Would really appreciate any tips/advice?

just to second (third etc) the cushion suggestion. Sitting feeding dd with the cushion under her and my arm of an evening was so comfy and relaxing! Feeling all nostalgic for it...

My DD 10 wks old now and I went from 30G to 32K. There is such a dearth of big nursing bras out there - maybe us booby mums should go into business selling some decent stuff! I also have Royce which kind of contains my boobs ~(most of the time) but I miss wires and uplift! Am also jealous of all the pert little mummies who just stick baby on nipple and have other hand free for latte/danish.

That said, I have had no trouble with mastitis etc. I go bra-free at night (with a towel under sheet to soak up drips) so they are not constantly crammed up. Also found latching a callenge but being creative with illows/holds helped. BF tops don't really work for me ( holes in wrong places and too small for my nips!) so just wear a vest and shirt (pull vest up and shirt down) plus strategically placed shawls. id=f anyone has other tips on this I'd like to hear them!

just realised last post a tad negative and wanted to add that i love breastfeeding! at first it was maybe more of a struggle and have only just got hang of bf in public but it is so worth it as it is lovely cuddling up to lo. Also, breasts have got me sexual attention since I was a teenager (welcome and unwelcome) it;s great now to have them doing another job and being appreciated for their nourishment! Plus, although I am assured by bf counsellors that this is not because of size i at least seem to have plenty of milk. Just didn't want to put you off before you've started! good luck with labour and bf-ing!

I was 36K when feeding. Agree though that Royce bras come up small. Suspect would possibly fit in an H.
There are underwired feeding bras about but only up to H, which is very annoying. Actually emailed bravissimo to ask why, and they tell me there isn't the demand. I'm not sure what converting an underwire would do to the support, or whether constantly moving the cup down would damage the bra. Plan to give it a go this time though!
I can recommend keeping a small rolled up flannel to put under your breast to hold it up a little. (the ones from ikea are cheap and work well). After some practice, you can have a hand free for the remote control or that Danish!

In answer to OP, suggest you get measured when about 36weeks somewhere like bravissimo or John Lewis to see if they can provide you with a nursing bra to accomodate any change in breast size. You may need to think about having one made.

Sitting on the floor to feed can be helpful when out and about at baby groups etc. I found this easier than hard backed chairs with no arm support. Just take your pillow with you.
