Hi DS3 is 9 weeks old and i've not had my periods return.

DS1 and DS3 returned within 6 weeks I had what I thought was the start of a period but just a slight smear then nothing.

Help please. Thanks

We are most definitley mad! We are actively trying but nothing seems to be happening yet. I fancy one or two more yet!

Thought I'd update my message- 1 week after starting night-weaning my period has returned.
Now I'm wondering why I wanted it to!

[hormonal, too hot and in pain emoticon]

DD 3 months, DS 8 months, both exclusively breastfed. I felt totally robbed when they returned at 3 months whilst feeding my DD, I put that down to her sleeping through from 9-12 weeks for 10-12 hrs though. The worst bit of it all was that she then didn't sleep through again until she was 19 months..

I started having regular periods somewhere between 4-6 weeks after DS was born

(can't remember exactly as was a few years back now! But I do remember that the bleeding from the birth had only just stopped and then a couple of days later I had a full period! I was told it was a sign of fertility!)

DS was breastfed exclusively and continued to breastfeed to 13 months old.

BMI (don't know if it's relevant) is the lower side of average, although I was a couple of dress sizes bigger after giving birth so would have had a higher BMI then.

Steaknife "i do know that if your weight falls below 7 and a half stone your periods stop. Equally girls dont start their periods until they reach this weight."

I'm sorry but that's rubbish! I started my period as a skinny teen when I would've weighed less than 7 stone, and have had periods as an adult when my weight was under 7 and a half, but my BMI has still been healthy as I am short. Having said that, periods do stop if one is underweight so maybe for a taller person this would happen at 7 and half stone.
