Fascinated by the biology of cluster feeding

How does it work? If their tummies are so small where on earth does all that milk go?

And as the milk is so easily digested how is it that when they've finally finished clustering they can then go so long before their next feed?

absolutely no idea but as my mum always reminded me, adults can continue to eat when they are full and not eat when they are empty so why should babies be any different?

i think that we sometimes forget that it is a human being we are dealing with and not a pre programmed text book.

Part of cluster feeding is also just comfort suckling as well. Often babies are not taking in as much milk as it appears, although it usually ends up being a bit more than the norm over all, hence the sometimes longer stretch you might get.

I think ds uses it to grow as I'm damn sure he's bigger the morning after!
