BFing 5 month old, can I do low cal diet?

Hi, am exclusively BFing 5 month old DD and have just started a low cal diet (Dietchef).

DD is feeding well and putting on weight nicely - 1 lb every 2 weeks still!! I lost 3 lbs in my first week and would like to continue this diet for another 3 weeks or so as I only actually have another 10/11 lbs to lose (struggling with that last half a stone hence the special diet).

TBH I actually think I'm eating far better on this diet than I was before - it consists of good cereal, soups, oat baked snacks and proper meat & veg ready meals and you add fresh fruit & veg everyday. So I'm eating more fruit and veg than before and not just surviving on the odd chunk of cheese/ chocolate bar/ junk food fix etc. (I do actually eat quite well anyway apart from lack of fresh fruit really)

Feel free to curse me on not paying too much attention to my diet before.... but my question is, if DD is putting on weight & happy, I'm having same amount of semi-skimmed milk as before and actually eating better, what's the big hoo-ha about dieting when BFing??? I bet celebrities do...
Thanks

I've no idea but would love to see some answers because I can't wait to start dieting to lose my baby weight (already exercise but it never seems to make much difference with me, only dieting)

I fed my first for 14 months, gained 4.5 stone during pregnancy and 1st year and only lost it ALL when I stopped feeding - I started feeding solids at 6 months so I would say, you will lose the weight as soon as you are more active and running about after a toddler, don't worry too much about the dieting when you only have another month before you can start on the solids. The rubbish in processed food (salt etc) will go straight through to your baby from your milk so just eat well & weight will go, be patient
