so the outcome last week for a thread of mine was it is fine to stop sterilising bottles now ds2 is 6 months which will be alot easier BUT as dr browns are so fiddly with all the attachements i worry that there will be germs (?) or what ever it is that causes tummy upset for babies, i do soak them in hot soapy water and then wash with brush but ds2 has necoate which is a mare to get off, it sort of leaves a film on the bottle and have to be careful. If there was a bit of 'milk' residue on a bottle and it went in the sterilisor would the bug be killed? Does that question make sense??

I don't know what necoate is but I washed all my bottles in hot soapy water (didn't use them before 6 months) and my DS has been fine. Surely if you use really hot water and soap, you can get it off?

yes it does come off as i do soak them first (neocate is a man made formula for allergy types!) i just want to know if a bit of milk was left on the bottle and it went in the sterilisor would the sterilisor kill the bugs or does it only kill 'airborne' bugs?
