18month old refusing milk

Over the lst week my 18m has had a gastroentiritis bug (d & v) he has been well for three days+ now and everynight since he has been porly he is refusing any bottled milk i have tried to give him. He drinks diluted juice in the day, to keep him hydrated. He will eat yogurts and fromage frais, but no other dairy porduce. Now he is not drinking his milk, he is waking hungry 2 hours earler than he would normally get up. I used to be a really lucky mum and he would sleep 7pm till 8am, now its mostly before 6. But i think this is only because he no longer has a tummy full of milk. He previously has refused to drink milk from a sippy cup or mug, so i have not tried this so far. Any suggestions please?
should i try horlicks or ovaltine? or are they to sugary? he has nearly all his teeth.

how many bottles does he have a day? perhaps he just doesnt want it anymore.

ds has recently dropped his afternoon and evening bottles and just has one in the morning. i give him a bit ready-brek before bed now to keep him going through the night.

forgot to add that my ds is 15months old.

DS1 stopped breastfeeding at 20mo and refused to drink cows' milk at all. I just upped the amount of cheese and yoghurt he had during the day and didn't worry about it too much.

He is now 27mo and today, completely out of the blue, asked for a drink of milk and drank a whole cupful!

If he is waking early due to hunger I would give him some toast or cereal before bed. Also check how dark his room is as it might be the light mornings waking him earlier.

perhaps you could just drop the bottle and get dairy into him other ways. ready-brek, macaroni cheese, fish pie etc all contain dairy.

then try him with his bottle again in a few days and see if he will take it. if he won't then take it as sign he doesn't want it anymore.

i would definitly try a bit of porridge before bed to help keep him full throughout the night though.

ok, i will try some readybrek tomorrow night at around 6;30, and not offer him the milk. I just hope he is not to full from his tea, which he has at around 4;30pm
he can be a fussy eater!
