Nursing bra... What to do.....

I'm 38 weeks with second child and have just been measured at M&S, went to Debenhams too. I'm measuring a 36E. Both assistants told me something different, so I came away with nothing.

What size nursing bra should I buy? I don't want to brave town again with SPD and a toddler.....

if you saw something you liked in debenhams that is a main stream brand, my tip is to buy it from figleaves.com in two sizes (or more!) and do not wear it/wash it until you've had the baby. after that, try them both on and return whichever you don't need. alternatively is there any place nearer to you that would do a fitting? we had a little boutique lingerie place, and whilst i wouldn't normally shop in there (expensive!) they did a really great measurement for me and i just bought one bra, and bought more of the same from figleaves. i find quite often if you search around online you can also find discount codes for figleaves.

(no i don't work for FL, even though now i sound like i do. i just really like that the returns are so easy)

ps. good luck with it, it's a bit of a pita breasts changing sizes dramatically. i found i had to change size down the track as my breasts settled down, so the first ones i would buy would not be the best and loveliest probably - i'd save that for later.

Thanks audreyraines. To be honest, I didn't really browse as I was so thrown by the different size thing.

I've got a pair of 36 F bras from last pregnancy (couldn't BF). One assistant said 36E, one said 36 F or G ! I can't remember what size I was when my milk came in last time as the whole BF thing was so traumatic... I think I've repressed the memory.

Is there general advice for cup size or chest size after the birth? I don't want to buy three different bras!

iirc, it is recommended to get one cup size up from your size at the time they measure (ie. 38 weeks)
i've heard some department stores are crap at measuring though. did you feel like either was better/knew what they were doing?

tbh, i would probably just go with the bras you've got, and then if they seem too massive or small, you could get something else. it's a bit hit and miss in the beginning anyway. you want something with a little bit of room and fairly soft as your breasts expand and shrink for a bit until your milk settles down. i liked bravado bras at first, they are really soft and stretchy and comfy (but much later on, i wanted something a bit more structured once everything settled down, but this was much much later)

Thanks so much. I'll stick with the 36 F and then try and buy some new ones when things calm down xx
