I am really quite concerned about this baby.

The mother leaves her for a long times between feeds, hardly changes her nappy because she says there's nothing in it which makes me worry about the supply.

I have seen the mother breastfeeding and she feeds on both sides, but not for very long each time.

Also, I have seen the mother leave this baby unattended, today on a park bench while the mother played in the park.

I am also concerned about the strange appearance of the baby's skin. It appears to be blue and furry. The mother seems unconcerned, but then the mother is very very young. Three and a half in fact. And he's my DS

He is finding it hard to accept that he's never going to be a mummy I think, so his teddy bear is bearing the brunt of his mothering skills.!

We have a dog looked after in much the same way.

Often cuddled to within an inch of his life, some days over fed, other weeks starved for days on end.

Never complains not even when he has to go in the washing machine.

Thats lovely. My DD also 3 and half regularly BF various babies and teddies (DS 12wks so she's seeing more of mums boobs than normal). Its v sweet

Imoverhere · 16/05/2009 22:14

by babies I mean her dollies (which she calls babies ) DD doesn't randomly go up to lots of babies and try and bf them

mawbroon · 16/05/2009 22:17

In his defence re the park bench thing, he had wrapped the baby up to keep warm.

DS2 BF his tractor.

He is very particular about the latch. The teddy's mouth has to be placed exactly on his nipple.

ROFL - DD very sweetly breastfed her dolly today, then when she'd finished she dropped her onto the stone floor stomping on her spine to 'wind' her

EachPeachPearMum · 16/05/2009 23:02

my dd tends to feed hers halfway down her tummy... given that she sees me feed ds about 7 times a day, I'm not sure why...

But her baby's nappies are always full, usually soiled...

This has been going on for a couple of weeks now since my sister had her baby.

He has changed his teddy's name and now calls it the same name as his new cousin.

We went to visit my sister earlier and he brought his baby along too. Hopefully he will start feeding his own baby every time he sees his cousin feeding instead of asking me for milk.

lol we had a new cousin renaming as well. just wait until he starts dropping his baby on its head so that he can offer comfort etc. 'oh darling did you fall? THUD oh darling did you fall AGAIN?'

Poledra · 16/05/2009 23:11

DD1 used to bfeed her dolly when I bfed DD2. like EPPM's DD, she held the dolly nearer to her belly button than her nipples. However, I always assumed that this said something about the state of my boobs rather than her powers of observation

boomirrin · 17/05/2009 00:03

Ahhhh... That's so cute!

dancingmummy · 17/05/2009 20:38

lol this made me laugh so much! my ds1 feeds his pooh bear 'spaghetti' from his 'breasts'. he's very skilled...
