To wake or not to wake?

DD2 is 6 months old and until about a 3 weeks ago, I was waking her at 11 for a bottle of formula, and she was having a bowl of baby rice, and she was sleeping through til just gone 6. While we were away a couple of weeks ago, I was so tired I decided not to wake her and she still went through til 5.15/5.30 so I dropped the bottle. I have since increased baby rice to 2 helpings but in the last week she has not gone back to waking at 3.30/4 (and I mean wide awake!) I have tried to settle her back to sleep (doesn't take a dummy) but all that works is breast-feeding her. What could be causing her to wake? Should I go back to the bottle at 11pm? Getting rather tired as DD1 has been waking between 6/6,30 too. Any advice much appreciated x

Teeth!

Sorry it's probably not boob or bottle related but it's most probably teeth. She's getting comfort from your breastfeeds. It should pass in a few weeks.

yes, don't start waking her. would most likely be teeth..

they go through these phases unfortunately.

can you give her an extra bottle in the day?

Thanks for your replies. After a bit of reading, it looks as though I may have reduced her milk too much after introducing that 2nd bowl of rice. So I have managed to squeeze another bottle in today, so am crossing fingers for a later start!

sounds right, milks should stay the same for a little while, and food an extra.

good luck

I stopped the dreamfeed at 7.5 months - after DS was eating at least 2 'proper' meals per day. He didn't wake in the night (although he is now because he has a tooth coming through, but not waking for a feed).

I agree with Sheeta, sounds right to keep milk feeds up for now.
