Natural yoghurt?? Have you phoned your local pharmacy to see what you can take while b/f?

Canesten cream should be fine. DS had oral thrush while BFing, and I had to put it on my nips (obviously washing before feeds), so it can't do much harm.

See a pharmacist tomorrow to ask about BFing and Diflucan.

I had a bad bout of it down below a few weeks ago through taking antibiotics. I slapped natural yoghurt like chinchilla suggested on it for a couple of days and it went.

deegward, i had thrush not so long ago. It was the worst case of it id ever had,i just didnt know what to do with myself, its so miserable. Then a nurse suggested trying the LIVE natural yoghurt, but to dip tampons in it and leave them in for 30 mins each time.It worked!Apparently the infection starts high up but causes itching lower down.GOOD lUCK,hope your not suffering too long.

Saphire5 that is a good idea about the tampons. At least it wont make it sloppy. haha

yuck deegward - lots of sympathy - I got a bad case a month ago, the doctor's reaction 'ooh la la', and I just took the normal thrush pessaries. But don't forget dh/dp - he should take tablets/use cream too esp if thrush is recurring as he could just be passing it back to you again (this was happening with me). If you're breastfeeding tho you shouldn't take the tablets - pharmacist will have more details. Also boil everything in sight! Not dp's bits though!
Hormonal whatnots are responsible apparently - i'd never had thrush before in my life but now look like I have ants in my pants.
