Bras!

Hello. DD born on 24th april so just over 2 weeks. I never got measured properly and TBH all my bras are crap, don't fit properly and completly range in sizes. I can't afford to spend loads on bras, but I know I need to get it sorted to a) not ruin my boobs and b) clear out my overflowing draw of poorly fitting bras!

Is now an OK time to get measured/measure myself? If I want to get measure properly, where do I go/what exactly do they do? I know its really bad but I have never been measured properly . I did go into a bra shop once to get measured and all they did was give me a few bras to try on and the one I said fitted best she said that was my size?! Surly this isn't what they are meant to do? I could of done that myself!

I also want to start excersicing once I have had my 6 week check so would like one or 2 good support/sport bras - is there any that would be ok for BF? My baby would be coming with me to the classes (Buggyfit etc).

Is there a good place to get good but cheap bras suitable for BF? Maybe preloved ones? We are mega skint?!

The best place to be fitted, AFAIK, is Bravissimo - but they only stock D cups and larger.

Hi,
I got fitted at John Lewis. She only measured my back size, not cups - worked that out from looking at me and trying different nursing bras. H&M do cheap BF bras and TK maxx often have Shock Absorber sports bras at cheap prices, good support, but will have to pull up if need to BF during a class. There is also a front fastening T-back Shock absorber bra, isn't their most supportive but great for feeding in if can get away with a bit less support. I found wearing 2 sports bras was sometimes necessary during first year of BF!
HTH & congrats on DD

Supermarkets probably do cheap bf bras too. Asda has a large range of different bras now.

TBH I don't use the front clips in the BF bras anyway, find it too much of a faff and didn't really see the point in them as it is quicker and easier to just pull bra up or down as trying to descretly clip the bras back up in public with a baby in arms just never seemed to work. So not worried about that.

Never heard of Bravissimo so I am assuming there isn't one locally, I will look into it though as I am at least a D cup so that isn't a problem.

If not, can I just measure myself? Or get Mum/hubby to do it?
