I thought i might pop along to my local one next week just as a way of meeting some new people.

I don't think i need any help BF though, it seems to be going quite well now though we have had our problems in the past.

Will i have to show someone how i do it or something ? I don't mind anyone seeing or anything, i'm just preparing myself in advance

Or is it just tea drinking & chat [hopes]

it is drinking tea, chatting, asking any questions that arise, they help with positioning if you are struggling or advise on mastitus/thrush etc and help whan you start weaning. there are normally toys and play mats out for the kids and sometimes theres a hv who can weigh/measure the baby.
well worth going to!

tea and biscuits at ours, then anyone who needs help goes off to a quiet room with a BF peer supporter.

i met some wonderful ladies at BF group. i found they are there for help if you need it, or just general chat and tea and biscuits if you don't. i went at first for help, and then just enjoyed it so kept going for quite a long time.

My friend trained as a BF counsillor, and invited me along to a BF group, only she just told me it was a group where I could learn about the best type of nutrition for my baby. I had quite breastfeeding about six months before! People kept congratulating me on still breastfeeding at that age, and I had to point out that I didn't. Very odd.

If it's a LLL meeting, there is often a formal discussion.

Otherwise, generally speaking there is a lot of tea drunk, and despite the number of norks being whipped out, BF is actually the least popular topic of conversation at the one I go to Unless someone is new, or having a problem they want to discuss generally of course.
