Have covered my nips with clotrimazole cream and baby has decided she needs a feed. Do I need to wash it off??

instructions are very unclear.

Many thanks

Sorry, coming to this far too late now! However, for next time... my understanding is that it's only necessary to use a thin covering of cream. If any is still visible at the next feed it can be gently wiped off with a tissue/clean cloth. Is your dd's mouth also being treated? It is passed very easily backwards and forwards, so usually both need treatment simultaneously even if one has no symptoms. you may find the BFN thrush leaflet useful, if you haven't already seen it . The pdf is sometimes easier to read if you print a copy, as in hard copy it is a folded 4 part leaflet, so you may need to look carefully to work out what order the pages come in electronically.

Have just realised you said clotrimazole. The BFN leaflet suggests miconazole as the preferred option. This is available over the counter, but sold as athlete's foot cream!
