Windy breasfteeding baby - any suggestions?

My lovely little one week on dd2 is exclusively breastfeeding but really, really windy. My positioning/attatchment is spot on but she is feeding lots and has gained 9oz in her first week!

Unfortunately she is really windy at night and her little tummy goes hard and from about 2am onwards she spends the whole time groaning and grimicing. This is obviously keeping me wide awake too!

My first dd had this too and I never found a solution - infacol didn't work at all but am happy to try it again.

I wind her after each breastfeed and she does usually burp. The only way she will settle is by lying tummy down on my chest - so I still don't get any sleep!

Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted!!!

some foods are believed to have a bearing on wind and gas in bf babies. I know oranges or any citrus fruit didn't agree with my ds, and I think some veg (broccoli?) might also have the same effect.
Apart from that, maybe you have a fast letdown and your dd is gulping down the milk or maybe she is a little guzzler by nature. . My mum swears by gripe water as a remedy but I don't think that it is readily available hth
