In fact Mr Harrington is my obstetrician, he was utterly supportive, I gave birth absolutely naturally in 3.5 hours with no pain relief and breastfed without any problems for 9 months. My baby is in the 98th growth percentile now. Mr Harrington is utterly supportive while being educated and common sense in his approach, he simply does not believe in alienating mothers to be and new mothers. He also practices at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth which is one of the foremost proponents of natural childbirth in the country if not the world. He is all for the natural way, but not to the detriment of either mother or child.

He's a male medic who wants women's breasts reserved for his pleasure. Surprise, surprise.

Tuckerella, perhaps then you could write to him or email to enquire, if he's so supportive of BF, why he wrote that nonsense?

Tuckerella - I would love to hear how breastfeeding could ever be to the detriment of the child. Genuine question.
