How long does it take for milk to "dry up?"

That' is it really.

I have just decided to stop BFing DS3 who is now 13 months old and has not been v interested for some time now. So, in theory, "stopped" about 10 days ago, from about 2-3 feeds in 24 hrs until then.

In the last week he has had about half a dozen breast feed, really only to relieve me. Tried to latch him on this afternoon and he literally took 3 swallows and was off again ! 'Tis was enough to decompress me, so fine. But I would like to know in the greast experience pool that is all Mners: how long til I can ritually burn all BF bras ??

Obviously will be different for everybody, just looking for experience of others.

Took 4 weeks with DD, and just stopped feeding DS and it took 2 days !!

Good luck.

I don't mean to depress you but it took over 6 months after ds2's last feed before I could shower without a drip coming out!

Not like a big feeds worth, I certainlyw asn't wearing feeding bras all that time but my body was still making milk all that time and no baby wanting it.

But then I bf ds1 for 6m, was pg with ds2 the next month and fed him for 9m so perhaps my body was just waiting for the next baby to arrive!

(Two of my friends said it took nearly a year....)

A year! Holey crap. I have just stopped after 13m, 2 days on and am in agony, do you think a frosen pizza would help??

at 1 year!!

Gave DS3 a small feed this afternoon, again just for decompression . This was the first feed in over 48 hrs, so clearly things are slowing down.
May just wear normal bra tomorrow, yeah!!
