DD is 9 months and has been cutting down on milk feeds for the last few weeks, then suddenly she began refusing to feed altogether and if i was very unlucky she would bite me aswell. So I decided to stop feeding and began introducing a cup, i thought as she had cut down such a lot it wouldn't be too painful but one breast is extremely sore and visibly lumpy. I want to express a bit to relieve the pressure but will this just increase supply and make matters worse?

Also it has now been a full week since her last feed, how long until there is no more milk?

When I stopped feeding DD at 12 months, one side was hard and sore. Having not fed her for 4 or 5 days, I gave just one more feed from the sore side. That totally resolved it and I would say a week to 10 days after that, I had no more milk either side. Don't know if that is the right thing to do, but my (unprofessional) opinion is that a baby would move the soreness better than expressing.
