When does milk dry up?

DS is now 10 mths. I bf exclusively until 6 months, and partially until 8 months. Stopped then as back to work and DS no longer needed night feeds.

Anyway I still seem to have milk - not leaking or anything, but when, erm, squeezed! Should they not have dried up by now? Guess it explains why my norks are still enormous

I bf my DS for 15mths and even when he was 2and a half (before I got pg with DS2,) i could still squeeze some out. I think once you have bf, you will always be able to get something (though usually only the tiniest bit of liquid) when you squeeze.

Did you know that even when you have finished breastfeeding, you can re-establish lactation? The body is a very clever thing! So, you never truly dry up completely.

But you won't leak anything, so don't worry.

I stopped bfing 11.5 months ago (fed for 23 months) and can still get milk out

Bf for 5mths and it's now 11mths on and can still produce small amount

Red that explains a lot. Mind you DD looks at me as if I'm mentally impaired if I tell her that she used to get her milk from me so I don't think either of us will be keen to re-establish lactation

Well over a year and quite often have milk in my breast just before my period. (at least they are perky for a few days a month!)

Thanks all - I didn't realise this was so common!
