Tooth extraction!!! Help me

I need to get a wisdom teeth extracted, which is my worst nightmare as I have a severe phobia of dentists. My dentist has suggested sedation due to the phobia but says its not suitable for BFing women. I really can't do it under a local, pathetic to some but just a check up is a big deal to me.

DD is just over 9months and is well able to last most of the day without a feed. The only option can't be to stop feeding her when neither of us are remotely ready to give up.

Is there anywhere I can look up the length of time these drugs stay in your system?

I'd get a second opinion. I had a general anaesthetic while breastfeeding and was told it was fine to feed dd when I got home from hospital the same day.
What about women who have c-sections under a general anaethetic and begin to breastfeed straight after?
I'd say that if you feed your dd immediately before leaving, and then try to drink lots of water after the op to clean out your system, you'd be fine to feed her in the evening (but I'm not an expert )

Kellymom has some info on it here

The general guideline seems to be that once you are concious, or in this case, unsedated, the anaesthetic is out of your system and it is ok to breastfeed.

Hope it goes ok for you.

Yeah right, - so how do you reckon crash c/section mothers feed their babies?
