DS (10.5mo) is currently into his 6th day of a nursing strike. An embuggerance but we will get through it.

So far the "helpful" comments I have had....

(friend #1): "Well surely you would be stopping soon anyway"

(sister): "He's just letting you know he is a big boy now and doesn't need bf"

(mum): "It's not like he needs it anymore is it?"

(friend #2): "Ooh quick wean him while you've got the chance"

I don't want to stop!!

Well still no feeding.

I am coming through the hideous hormone fug and feeling much brighter and less teary.

Tried not giving him EBM - went for 48hrs then decided it wasn't making much difference and let him have it.

Am holding back a bit with the offering - might wait until the teeth appear before I go back to the skin-to-skin co-bathing stuff.

At the minute he just sticks his hand in his mouth as soon as he is offered the breast and chews madly on it.

Now feeling that I can cope with the expressing until he is 1 if I have to - don't know how long my resolve will last but feels like an achieveable goal at the moment.

DS did this at 50wks old. Was really sad - sympathies.

He is still at it!

Tooth not through yet so not giving up hope.

Had sort of convinced myself it would be today though - as his Easter present to me!

Depends on what you call progress...

Still not nursing. Have decided to go for the "reverse nipple confusion" approach and get him back onto bottles (has only had cup or breast for the last 3/12) so he gets back into the habit of sucking to feed.

Managed to get him to drink 7oz from bottle before sleeping tonight (was also nice as got to have nice sleepy milky cuddle and to see that dreamy milky face!)

Am determined to keep going - just have a vision that the day I give up, the next day would have been when he came back iyswim.

IT IS OVER!!

Started feeding this morning.

Now fast asleep after his 6th feed of the day.
