Blocked duct feeding 9 week old twins

Help - I think I have a blocked duct. I foolishly went too many hours the other night without feeding/expressing as we had someone else feed the babies and now I have a blocked duct I think. It is from the breast that generally produces a lot more milk. I've tried to get the twin who is the better feeder to suck it out, but to no avail. I never had this problem with my toddler and am at a loss (and in pain!). Any advice? Have tried hot bath and massaging. Not working...

EEK! But don't worry it can be sorted! Have you tried massaging with something like a comb or use your fingers towards the nipple, you'll need quite firm strokes - best time to do it (if you can) is while feeding from that breast.
Hot flannels will help with the pain. I have block ducts, and it does hurt when you do the massage but I did find it helped.
If you can't get it sorted yourself tonight, do you have a breastfeeding support group or a knowledgeable HV you can see tomorrow for help?

Thanks BT, it's better today - still a bit sore. I put a cold compress on it and then massaged it out while expressing. I think the cold compress reduced the swelling so allowed the milk to come out. Never going to risk going too many hours without feeding again!

make sure you change positions (eg baby under arm one feed, then lying across you for next). I realise this isn't so easy with tandem feeding, but might be worth feeding them separately for a couple of feeds.

Also, swop babies- don't give one breast to one baby as they are bound to be slightly different feeders and this will even you out, iyswim.

Well done, you're nearly there to the magic 3 months, when feeds suddenly start to be much quicker!
