Colief and formula feeding - can you share your tips please?

I'm just after a bit of advice really.

DS seems to be suffering really badly from colic, have tried infacol but doesn't seem to do much so hought I would give colief a try.

I am formula feeding and at the moment I am making up bottles with boiled water and then adding the powder as and when bottles are needed and warming the milk (I know not exactly in line with current guidelines but never hurt DD)

I see from the instructions for the colief that I am supposed to make up a bottle from scratch when needed and then leave for half an hour before using, I assume so that the enzyme works. The trouble is that I can't predict when he wants to feed half an hour in advance and I'm not always somewhere to make a bottle from scratch.

Can anyone let me know how they made this work - I'm desperate to make it work properly but need it to be practical.

Thanks

i actually don't think there is any evidence to support the fact that colief works at all if that saves you any trouble! Sorry about that hon...Colic is dreadful though, and you have my wholehearted sympathy. I think all you can do is ride it out. How old is DS now?

He's 4 weeks now and incredibly grumpy. It's just so horrible to see them in so much discomfort.

I have a suspicion that you may be right and that this won't help either but frankly I'm prepared to give anything a try!

I was the same, it made me feel better that I was just doing something about it even if if didn't work! You can also try the homeopathic remedy chamomilla (the same one for teething) but in my case it was just waiting it out. We'd take dd1 for a walk in the pram or a drive in the car, or put her in the sling and dance around to take our minds off it! A dummy also helped in our case but I know it isn't for everyone. I think dd1 stopped the screaming abdabs at about 10 weeks, but it got gradually better from about 6 I think. Good luck
