I am thinking of not taking my 2 year old out the house again, until she is 3 years old!

How do you cope with your toddlers while out of the home?

i don't cope

i get through it

what happened?

piscesmoon · 24/03/2009 19:10

How many have you got and what happened?

caspercat · 24/03/2009 19:11

Have been known to do 'time out' in the middle of the street - DD screaming 'NO, NO' at me whilst getting glares from public. But she didn't misbehave again, & it was exceptional bad behaviour that prompted it. i also ALWAYS carry out my warning - i.e park trip cancelled, comic not bought etc if she misbehaves.

BTW, i know not everyone agrees with time out, not suggesting you do it. And DD generally v good girl, above happens very rarely.....

ALWAYS have a pram with you so you can wrestle them into it if necessary and on some days when its just too too much to cope with, turn right round and go back home!!! it'll be better tomorrow.
My DS1 is 3 now and it is SO much easier.

We do okay out of the home.

Sweeties.

nickytwotimes · 24/03/2009 19:19

With us, it's when we are AT home that it all kicks off...

piscesmoon · 24/03/2009 19:23

Same here nickytwotimes-that is why we used to go out a lot at that age!

nickytwotimes · 24/03/2009 19:24

Yes, we are rarely in!

Divvy · 24/03/2009 19:24

I ment to post this in chat, its not bf related.

She has turned into a monster!

Climbs out of pushchair, this is after we have fought to get her in it!

Cant have her walking, as she wants to run off! Tried reins and she pulls against them like a puppy!

She is making life outside of the house really hard.

I am also sleep deprived, as right now we have tamden wakers, if its not her its the baby wanting feeding!

She was screaming in the car, even on short journeys, but we have got a dvd player for her now, and its made longer journeys better.

She is just so darn constant! Dont remember my others being this demanding!

Just now she stuck her toes in the babies mouth, now before now we have told her not to, and then she goes on to kick him!

Just now I let her carry on, as he has 2 bottom teeth now......dont think she will do it again!

She has also started to go to bite you if you say no to her.....I have let her bite me before now, and she ends up licking me!

She does play out in the garden daily, so she is not pent up indoors all day long.

sounds just like ds

i have a baby too

i think ds could be an opera singer in the future, he has impressive volume!

Divvy · 24/03/2009 19:44

I know it will pass, but I just cant remember it being this hard before!

I know I dont have as much energy as I did when I was younger with the others, but thought my patience I now have, would make up for it!

Maybe I just need some good sleep, 4 hours plus 4 hours would do me great!...if only! Its 1 hour-3 hours right now! dh goes work at 3am, so if that in the middle of my 3 hours......you get the picture!

nickytwotimes · 24/03/2009 19:46

Oh, Divvy, it is hard, isn't it?
I think the lack of sleep is the pits. Totally kills your patience. Ds had a phase of that over the winter - hopefully abating now - and I just felt like I couldn't cope.

It will pass, but it is hard.

Divvy · 24/03/2009 19:51

Cheers! lol

I am going bed very soon!
