I've just seen this mentioned on another thread. What is it and how do you deal with it if/when it happens?

Thanks

DS has become very distracted when feeding recently and sometimes won't take a feed at all (although he makes up for it at other times of the day), so I feel I need to be prepared.

I experienced this last year with my DS - then 11 months - whilst on holiday. After a day or so away he refused to nurse and became really distressed each time I attempted to feed him. It was incredibly upsetting - for me and him! He appeared to be quite confused as to what he wanted, so would try to suckle, then nip me and pull away. It went on for days. It took a great deal of 'closeness' to get him back on track - I literally kept him cuddled to me the whole time, including taking him to bed and allowing him free access to me. I am certain that going away and being in unfamiliar surroundings was the origin of his difficulties. He has never had any problems b/f before or since.

Mrsgamp thanks for sharing

Butterfly, he is 8 months old so we are in the bracket you describe. We don't really have a routine for BFs, he just has them whenever he wants them.
