What mushy foods would you recommend for onset of weaning? Want to try BLW, but a bit nervy. Think I'll do a bit of a mix!

Banana and avacado was always a fave of DSs.

Potato and pea, parsnip and carrot, apple and pear.

Those were DSs favorites - although that may have been later than 6 months.

Sweet potato is a favourite with DS.
Also baked apple (just core, stick in the microwave for a couple of minutes and then remove skin and mash up) and mashed avocado.

I'd start with vegetables before fruits.
We started with carrot, but stuck to the 3 day rule, you know where you introduce a new food every 3 days so you can spot allergies? Then added sweetcorn, and then peas.
Sweet potato's good mixed with broccoli. butternut squash with some orange juice. sweet pot, carrots and parsnips. Swede, carrot and peas. Potatoes, courgette and peas with some vegetable stock.Potatoe, carrot and sweetcorn.
This is all for puree route. I didn't offer ds1 finger food until about 8 months but think with ds2, I'll do a mixture of both, and just see what he wants and how he gets on with both. Goodlck

Why not just steam bits of veg so that they turn to mush as soon as they are bitten.
Peppers, swede etc - just chuck in whatever you have in the house until it's super-soft.
