size of nipples

Hi there,
I've not posted on this board before but it looks like the best place for my question!
I'm 37 + 2 weeks pregnant and planning to breastfeed. All my life one of my nipples has been vastly larger than the other, one aureole (sp?) is easily twice the size of the other. Is it at all likely that one breast will give less milk than the other? my colostrum seems to leak more or less equally although sometimes more from the bigger one and none from the smaller one.

thanks in advance for any insight.

No it doesn't matter what size your nipples are as regards milk production, both of your breasts will make milk. My nipples are really quite different from each other and they both work fine! Best of luck- stick around this board there is tons of fab advice on it for bf.

Thank you for the reassurance Mamacita. I am looking forward to breastfeeding and I am sure I will be a regular here when it all starts!

Nope. Milk is usually a supply and demand thing. Some babies and mothers prefer one breast over the other and this can lead to one making more milk though.
