My son is quite fussy and BFing is sometimes the only thing that calms him down, especially at night! He refuses a bottle and will hardly drink any milk from a cup.

He's almost a year, so I feel obligated to keep BFing him until he's atleast a few months older so he gets some nutrition since he refuses other milk.

Plus I love the comforting it provides since he is otherwise very hard to settle. I'm just looking for support to see if others would just as easily pack it in if not for their babies FUSSINESS!!

i kept feeding my dd till 18 months for same reason. other babies still have bottles and dummies so what the difference? also if you haven't got a problem with it there is no problem - whatever gets you through! i don't understand the rush to get them through all the milestones - they all reach them in the end anyway and with my 3dd's i've always felt like up until 6 months everyone says well done, and past that they say "your still feeding" in shock! its not like they've been 7 yrs! the longest has been 1.5yrs! moral of the story - you can't please everyone so you might as well please yourself and at least one persons happy!

Thanks for that. It is true that you have to do whatever makes you happy.

The thing is that my first DD took a bottle happily so I was able to wean her around this time, which was easier since she could just suck her bottle happily to sleep. So I wish DS was the same but I guess it's just not going to happen. :-(

Oh wow, I hope he's not going to be wanting to go on that long for my sake. Isn't it funny how each baby is so different?
