Odd "burny" area on breast

You lot are bound to be able to help me with this one.

DS is 18 months and we've been lucky to have few problems with BF, after the initial few weeks. However, for the last couple of days I have noticed a sensitive area on my breast, where it feels sort of sensitive and tingly, not in a good way! The skin appears absolutely normal, and there's no pain within the breast - just this localised soreness. It's not a blocked duct - I used to get them loads and it feels different to that sensation, plus, it's just where DS's chin goes when feeding so doubtful the ducts there would block.

Any ideas?

Mastitis cause hot red patches, but you would also feel pretty poorly if this was the case.

Have you dropped any feeds or has anything else changed regarding your bf patterns?

No red patch, and I feel fine.

I've been feeding more, if anything. DS is teething, so at first I thought he'd rubbed me with his teeth, but the sore area is a bit away from the nipple.

Mysterious!

just on one boob? Is the sensation just while feeding or constant?
Can't think of anything tbh!

i've had this before when breastfeeding - it went after a week or two - but if it persists get it checked out by gp - mine was higher up so i was confused by it, didn't think it could be a blocked duct either. see how it goes over a week and then maybe ask your gp.

It's constant, and I mostly feel it if I am undoing my bra or moving in bed or whenever it gets touched (or clawed - thanks DS!).

Thank you for thinking anyway - I think ignoring it to see if it goes away will be my next step, for a wee while anyway. Sick of pestering the GP with what I am sure they think are psychocomatic ailments!
